Build their confidence, shape their characters, and to express themselves through music.
In 2013, the Pong sisters — Ms. Annike Pong and Ms. Monique Pong — founded the Music Children Foundation (MCF), together with a group of passionate musicians, with the mission of providing free and professional music education to children from under-resourced families. From serving only a few dozen students in the early days, we have now reached more than 6,700 children and their families.
MCF primarily serves children and youth aged 3 and above — offering the Music Cradle programme for children aged 3 to 6, and choir, instrumental classes, and ensemble training for students aged 6 and above. We also provide a parent choir, dance classes, and a volunteer team, enabling parents to grow, receive support, and walk alongside their children on their musical journeys. Over the years, we have witnessed the profound impact that music education can bring to children and their families. Through joyful and inspiring learning experiences and public performances, children develop confidence, build character, and gain a sense of achievement. MCF also organizes workshops and seminars for parents, helping them relieve stress and approach parenting with greater ease, thereby fostering healthier family relationships. Parents support and learn from one another, gradually forming a warm and trusting community network.
In the years to come, we will remain committed to our founding mission and continue expanding our services, ensuring that families from all backgrounds can access music, be enriched by it, and grow with us through the power of music.
