Music Camp 2025
30 Mar 2025
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant : “Happy Music Together” Programme provides free music training for underprivileged children aged 6–12. Through an innovative new learning model, children experience music and instrument performance through interaction, exploration, and games.
This year’s music camp breaks from tradition, allowing every audience member to participate alongside the performers — everyone becomes a part of the stage! The seating arrangement is also uniquely designed — the audience and performers gather in a circle, enabling everyone to participate in the musical activities through interactive games with those around them, creating a fully immersive experience!
For the participants of the “Happy Music Together” programme, this was their first public performance. Naturally, there were some nerves, but they not only collaborated with their fellow classmates, they also shared the joy of music with their families, teachers, and volunteers. Together, they completed a performance that belonged to everyone! On the day, our Intermediate Wind Ensemble, the Great Eagle Music Children Ensemble, and the Great Eagle Music Children Chamber Choir also performed, showcasing the fruits of their years of hard work. They served as excellent role models for the younger participants, who now aspire to one day join their ranks. In addition, one of our tutor (Mr Fan) delivered a brilliant saxophone solo, demonstrating advanced musical techniques and adding vibrancy to the entire music camp.
Lastly, we’d like to thank the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation (HKYAF) artists for hosting a special parent-child art workshop prior to the event. These workshops allowed families to create together, experience art collaboratively, and enjoy precious moments of warmth and togetherness.
