First of its kind in Hong Kong, a parent/child multi-sensory experience gallery – U-BOX

Music Children Foundation is striving to bring music to every child and has been providing free-of-charge music trainings to children from economically disadvantaged families in Hong Kong.  In October, 2020 MCF is introducing a new multi-sensory experience gallery – U-BOX, where visual, sound and tactile sensations are put together in one exhibition, where parents and their children together can experience a wonderful multi-sensory musical journey.  The exhibition will display images of famous paintings, and musical instruments with sound upon touching.  It is a novel and fun experience to learn music for both parents and children.

U-BOX is housed in a 60 years old historical colonial style building situated in the bustling area of Prince Edward, 9 Arran Street.  While preserving the orthodox exterior of the building, MCF has turned its interior into a multi-sensory gallery with arts, music, technology and modernity where adults and children can enjoy both the architectural history of the building and, music and arts in a multi-media dimension.

The 3 sections in U-Box :

Music Gallery :

While images of famous paintings are displayed, children are able to learn more with a surprise when touching the images.

Sensory Tunnel :

In the multi-sensory tunnel, musical instrument not only can be “listened” but also can be “felt” and even “smelt”. It is an ingenious and fun experience to feel music.

Music Lab :

In a musical fantasy where children get to know music through rhythm, games and stories.
