"Jockey Club Music Children Fruit Programme" Annual Concert 2024 held successfully

29 Mar 2024

The “Jockey Club Music Children Fruit Programme” Annual Concert 2024 was held on March 30 at Wu Kai Sha Youth Village. The theme of the concert was “Celebration”, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of MCF and the beginning of its 11th year. A short “musical” performance at the end of the concert brought a pleasant surprise to the audience.

The concert was made up of choral performance and instruments ensembles performed in the afternoon and evening respectively. In the “Choral Session,” different choir groups showcased their singing skills, some accompanying with dance moves filled the atmosphere with energetic vibes. The performance by the Parents Choir -《讓世界充滿愛》and 《朋友》 was truly amazing. In the Finale the children’s choirs, the Parents Choir and Parents Dance Group sang and danced to the song “Step One”, bringing the 1st half of the concert to a climax.

The 2nd part of the concert in the evening featured the String Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. They presented a diverse range of musical styles, treating the audience a feast to the “ears”.

The grand finale performance was the excerpt from the musical “Sound of Music” jointly produced by MCF and the Actors’ Family. This special performance was played by 13 music children, music accompanied by the Great Eagle Music Children Ensemble. With meticulously produced costumes and makeup, together with the enchanting songs, the audience was absolutely captivated by the performance.

A highlight of the concert was our student conductors. After five months of training, four choir students and four orchestra students had the opportunity to showcase their talents of conducting a performance. The protégés expressed their gratitude for the valuable experience, noting their progress in communication and attainment in music. It is truly touching to see the transformation of these children from beginners to today’s young conductors.

We sincerely thank the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for their generous support allowing us to accompany the children’s growth through music. Though the “Jockey Club Music Children Fruit Programme” will end soon, we will continue to run new courses with new formats, contribute to the community with quality music projects.
