Presented by the Music Children Foundation (MCF) and sponsored by the Lee Hysan Foundation, the large-scale original musical Music Connects was successfully held at the East Kowloon Cultural Centre Theatre from September 5 to 6, 2026. We sincerely thank every audience member who came to support us. Your applause and encouragement made this an unforgettable stage.
This year, for the first time, MCF presented the true stories of children and their families in the form of an original musical Song Cycle. We are grateful to composer Amos Wong and lyricist Serena Tong for transforming growth, dreams, and connections into deeply moving works through their beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. With perseverance and hard work, our students and parents went through countless rehearsals and ultimately shone brightly on stage.
Special thanks go to Creative Director and Director Li Wing Hong, Choir Director and Vocal Coach Bobo, and Orchestral Conductor Ray Tsoi for their attentive guidance, accompanying the students as they continuously grow on their artistic and life journeys.
We were also highly honored to invite singer Cloud Wan as our special guest performer. Her infectious vocals tied the entire performance together, leading the audience into one real and touching MCF story after another, perfectly interpreting the spirit of “Music Connects.”
We would also like to express our gratitude to the distinguished guests from the music and education sectors for their participation, including Ms. Nancy Loo, Ms. Colleen Lee, Ms. Lee Ming-chit, Ms. Lok Tsz-kwan, Mr. Warren Lee, Prof. Tseng Sun-man, Mr. Leung Sau-yan, and Mr. Leung Wing-hang, as well as all MCF staff, the backstage production team, the filming crew, and our volunteer partners for their dedication. It is precisely because of everyone’s collaboration that this performance, so full of love and emotion, was made possible.
For 13 years, MCF has firmly believed that music can change lives and connect communities. Seeing our children grow from beneficiaries into storytellers on stage is our greatest comfort. Music Connects is not an endpoint, but a new beginning. We will bring this musical to different corners of the community, including hospitals and elderly care homes, allowing more people to experience the power of music in connecting us all.
